this video I'm going 0:11 to be sharing what I think Tesla will 0:13 announce tomorrow but more importantly 0:14 what are the bigger picture implications 0:17 I'll be hopping on a plane in about an 0:19 hour going from Austin to the Bay area 0:21 and I'm looking forward to this event 0:23 like almost no other event I've been 0:25 attending Tesla events for almost 10 0:26 years now and I'm super excited super 0:29 stoked to check out this event alright 0:31 so Elon Musk tweeted earlier the AI day 0:33 2022 invitation this is going to be in 0:36 Palo Alto tomorrow night and you made a 0:38 note saying that this event is meant for 0:39 recruiting Ai and robotic Engineers so 0:42 it will be highly technical so Elon is 0:44 giving a warning here it probably will 0:46 bore a lot of people but for those 0:48 looking for the right things I think 0:50 it's going to be highly worth it 0:51 holmar's catalog asked Elon saying can 0:54 you drop any hints for AI day please and 0:56 Elon replies this there will be lots of 0:58 technical details and cool Hardware 0:59 demos so we know Tesla will show a demo 1:02 of their prototype humanoid robot but 1:05 what other Hardware demos might Tesla 1:07 show I tweeted earlier today I said I 1:09 could be wrong but decently High 1:11 likelihood that Tesla will show hardware 1:12 for a Tesla AI day 2. so Hardware 4 is 1:16 the whole Hardware Suite that Tesla puts 1:18 on their cars for full self-driving or 1:20 autopilot it's currently they're on 1:22 Generation 3 or Hardware 3. but Tesla is 1:25 about to release I think a full 1:27 self-driving updated computer so this is 1:29 their second iteration of the full self 1:31 driving computer it'll have a much 1:33 faster chip and I think Tesla also will 1:35 upgrade the camera Suite in the cars as 1:37 well I also tweeted that I wouldn't be 1:39 surprised if Tesla spent quite a lot of 1:41 time going over Hardware 4 specs and 1:43 what it enables and also I wouldn't be 1:45 surprised if Tesla announces that all 1:47 Tesla cars at least in North America 1:49 built since the very end of Q3 or let's 1:52 say this week I already have Hardware 4 1:54 installed what does this mean for others 1:56 who don't have hardware for I think 1:58 Tesla will provide enough upgrade path 2:00 hopefully the upgrade it will be for 2:02 free or at least a very minimal cost for 2:04 those who've already paid for the FSD 2:05 option all right so what do I think will 2:07 be the complete list of announcements 2:09 that Tesla goes over at AI day so I 2:11 think there's gonna be five things so 2:13 number one Tesla will announce I think 2:15 the FSC Hardware 4. so this is their new 2:17 computer their system on a chip also a 2:20 new camera Suite Tesla will highlight 2:22 the efficiency gains but also to compute 2:24 power gains from this new hardware Suite 2:26 this will allow Tesla to deploy larger 2:28 neural Nets which will improve the full 2:30 self-driving performance also Tesla 2:33 might highlight the hardware and the 2:34 software kind of integration that Tesla 2:36 has which gives them a huge competitive 2:38 advantage against its competitors all 2:40 right second expectations that Tesla 2:42 will give a dojo update so Dojo is our 2:44 super computer that they're building 2:46 they're still in progress or in process 2:48 I think they'll actually show neural 2:50 Nets in action on this they actually 2:52 might show an exopod which is 120 tiles 2:55 put together one tile equals 25 of their 2:58 D1 chips or system on a chips also they 3:00 might talk about the various tools and 3:02 software that's required to build around 3:04 the Tesla Dojo supercomputer alright 3:06 third expectation for announcement I 3:08 think Tesla will dive into their full 3:10 self-driving updates I think they will 3:12 share an update on the occupc network 3:13 which is basically kind of a new 3:15 framework that Tesla has developed where 3:17 they're more accurately able to detect 3:20 and identify all the various objects and 3:22 their moving speed and actually the 3:24 future projections of where those 3:25 objects will be at any given time Tesla 3:28 will probably also highlight the safety 3:30 advantages that FSC bring and also they 3:32 might highlight how neural Nets are 3:34 taking over their software stack away 3:36 from kind of a rule-based or heuristic 3:38 approach they also might give an updates 3:40 with their development on their 3:41 simulation software and the overall 3:43 pictures I think Tesla will give a clear 3:45 path to reach Robo taxi in other words 3:48 they'll show what they have remaining to 3:50 tackle and how far they need to go all 3:52 right number four announcement I'm 3:54 expecting is the humanoid robot we know 3:56 Tesla will give a demo of their 3:58 prototype but what is this prototype I 4:00 think it'll be kind of full humanoid 4:02 robot obviously won't have a face 4:04 they'll have hands have arms legs and 4:07 feet I would imagine this robot would be 4:09 able to walk out on the stage and the 4:12 focus will probably be doing on some 4:14 simple picking up or moving things the 4:16 focus for Tesla on the robots is they 4:18 want to have hundreds if not thousands 4:20 of these robots in their factories first 4:22 helping the manufacturing process 4:24 actually being super helpful Tesla will 4:26 probably give an update on how they're 4:28 working hard with the actuators and the 4:30 actual Hardware of the robot but also 4:31 integrating right the FSC computer and 4:34 probably a new set of neural Nets to 4:36 enable the robot to become smarter over 4:38 time and the last announcement is I 4:39 think Tesla might give test rides of the 4:42 new Roadster to participants at the 4:44 event now this is just speculation just 4:46 some of my ideas here all right so 4:48 moving on what are the bigger picture 4:49 implications so why does this matter 4:52 number one I think this AI day will show 4:54 Tesla's extreme focus and execution on 4:56 reaching FSD and Robo taxi Tesla isn't 4:59 fooling around they have a clear 5:01 priority and focus on reaching a full 5:04 FSD second implications I think this 5:06 will further cement Tesla as one of the 5:08 leading AI companies not just an auto 5:11 company and not just a tech company but 5:13 actually one of the world's leading AI 5:15 companies my opinion all right number 5:16 three implication I think AI day will 5:18 show Tesla's unique Hardware plus 5:21 software approach toward AI in other 5:23 words you've got the car and the brains 5:26 right you've got the robot and the 5:27 brains so you've got a hardware plus a 5:29 software right integrated approach that 5:31 I think brings a lot of competitive 5:33 advantages for Tesla all right number 5:34 four I think we'll see the confidence of 5:36 Elon Musk in this presentation I think 5:39 Elon will emphasize that they're 5:40 reaching FSD soon they're getting there 5:42 and that they're seeing a clear path to 5:44 an eventual Robo taxi number five 5:46 implication is I think this first 5:48 prototype of the Tesla Optimus robot 5:51 will put Tesla on the map as a leader in 5:54 the robotics field and I think Tesla's 5:57 position as eventual leader of the 5:59 entire robotics field will be cemented 6:01 year after year as they give these 6:03 updates showing people the amazing 6:04 things they're doing not just with 6:05 robotics but combining robotics with the 6:08 latest and a Cutting Edge AI technology 6:10 all right number six implication is 6:12 Tesla's Optimus robot I think will have 6:15 a clear path to Market I'm looking for 6:17 any clues that Tesla gives in terms of 6:19 what is their first Focus I think it'll 6:21 be the Factory and then from the factory 6:22 how will Tesla go into the consumer's 6:25 house and the question there is how long 6:26 will it take right to go from the 6:28 prototype to a consumer's house I think 6:31 we're looking at probably five years or 6:33 so but it's plus or minus and a lot of 6:35 that is going to be dependent on what 6:37 Tesla says and what they show at this AI 6:39 day all right number seven implication 6:41 is Tesla is building all of this 6:43 state-of-art AI Hardware software right 6:45 building Robo taxis and Rogue robots in 6:48 development but all of this is within 6:50 their current r d spend or research and 6:53 development spend and this is extremely 6:55 lean in other words this is showing a 6:57 lot of fiscal discipline to be able to 6:59 death into future trillion dollar 7:01 markets but yet still have lean expenses 7:05 and have billions of dollars of profit 7:07 every quarter this is the position that 7:09 Tesla's in and AI day will only 7:10 reinforce this all right number eight 7:12 implications that AI or artificial 7:14 intelligence is adding extreme value to 7:16 Tesla's business model right it's not 7:18 just cars but you're adding on to the 7:20 cars an artificial brain that's able to 7:22 drive the car without a human eventually 7:25 now this is FSD and Robo taxi but you 7:27 also got the brains for a future robot 7:29 also you've got manufacturing 7:30 efficiencies that are gained by Robotics 7:33 and Ai and I think the list will go on 7:35 more and more over time as you can tell 7:36 I'm pretty excited and stoked about 7:38 Tesla's AI day 2.
