The Relative Strength (RS) Rating for contract design and manufacturing giant Jabil (JBL) moved up into a higher percentile Monday, as it got a lift from 68 to 74.

Electronics continue to be a bright spot in the uncertain economy, with leaders such as Apple, Microsoft and Amazon putting up impressive gains.

Jabil (formerly known as Jabil Circuit) sells its services to a variety of segments including medical, retail and robotics companies. It has about 100 plants in 28 countries and employs some 170,000 worldwide.

Robots For Supermarkets

On July 28, Jabil spotlighted a deal in the robotics segment. Jabil's Badger Technologies division deployed multipurpose robots at Woodman's Markets throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.

Jabil's stock price has nearly doubled from a coronavirus market crash low of 17.63 on March 19, to 34.99 in Monday afternoon trading, after hitting a fresh 2020 high at 35.77. The company may have more work to do though as it corrects from the slump.

Its relative strength line, which compares its stock performance vs. the benchmark S&P 500, has mostly trended sideways since June.

Last quarter, Jabil reported a 35% drop in EPS to 37 cents a share. Sales edged up 1% in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, to $6.34 billion.
